More about St Agnes surfspot

Powerful, beachbreak peaks over a rocky beach. One of the few spots working in big SW swells and winds.

General: Punchy, busy beachbreak nestled in the heart of the 'Badlands,' one of Cornwall's most core surf communities. In medium to large swells, this small sheltered bay delivers quality, hollow rights and shorter lefts and is one of the few spots on the coast that can handle southwesterly winds. As a result, the small line-up has become increasingly busy to the point of chaos. Don't drop in. Heavy rains bring pollution down the outdated drains from the overwhelmed village sewage infrastructure. Tides: Mid tide. Size: Thigh high to overhead. Wind: SE to SW Swell: Big SW Bottom: Sand. Paddling: Easy paddle out in rip on left by harbour wall. Spot Rating: Heavy and hollow, especially at low.

Not for beginners except when small.

Pay car parks close to beach. Do not drive down the slip way... its a clutch burning reverse or a watery automotive grave...

December - February.

Crowd Factor: Very busy. Local Vibe: Always super competitive. Can get feisty. Long established local crew, don't expect a warm welcome.

Localised and crowded. Small amount of parking by the pub.

OK - except after heavy rain when the sewage is definitely visible.

Rips, Crowds, punchy, rocks.
