Stillbay is an epic righthand pointbreak with powerful, ruler-edged walls and some tube time possible. Huge SW swells will halve in size by the time they have wrapped into the bay, before sectioning off between the tip and the harbour. Long rides, but rarely the full 1km link up, as rogue rocks and a gruelling rip pushes down the point. Low tide outside and high tide inside with W-SW winds, since NW can bump up the face, just like J-Bay.
Experienced, strong paddlers only. Medium consistency and sometimes crowded but 40-50 surfers can co-exist especially when the rip is running. There are loads more spots in the immediate vicinity to escape the crowds if necessary.
