Super Suck surf guide

Super Suck is located in Maluk Bay on the island of Sumbawa, Indonesia. This surf spot is known for its powerful and challenging waves, mostly favored by experienced surfers. The surrounding area is lined with cliffs and can only really show what it's capable of when a solid SW to W swell rolls in. The name pretty much sums up what you can expect here, especially during low tide when things get pretty intense.

The waves at Super Suck break over live coral and typically roll in from the left. It's a reef break that handles swell sizes of around 6 feet (about 1.8 meters). The optimal swell direction is from the West, with additional good swells coming from the SouthWest. The wind is best from the SouthEast, which helps shape the waves nicely. Regardless of the tidal conditions, surfers can find rideable waves at low, mid, and high tides, but this spot is definitely recommended for those with expert skills. Take-offs here are critical, and you need to approach straight into the barrel to make it through to the end.

This spot can get pretty crowded, especially when the conditions are right, as boats often arrive bringing in other surfers eager to tackle the waves. So if you're planning a session at Super Suck, be ready for a bit of an intense experience. It's a spot that tests your skills and commitment, and only the best players usually come out unscathed.
