The surf here generally ranges from about shoulder-high to 3 feet overhead (roughly 1 to 2.4 meters), with the ability to handle swells from 3 to 8 feet (about 0.9 to 2.4 meters) depending on the day. The waves break both left and right, and you can expect mainly beach waves that work best on a mid to high tide. When the swell comes from the Northwest, West, or Southwest, and the wind is blowing from an East direction, you’re likely to have a good session. It’s usually easy to paddle out, but be prepared if there’s a big swell rolling in.

The crowd factor is fairly minor, so you won't be fighting for space in the water. The local vibe is chill, and surfers of all abilities—beginners to intermediates—can have a good time here. Spring, summer, autumn, and winter all offer different conditions, but fall can be particularly epic. Just keep in mind that sometimes howling Northwest winds and other surfers are part of the scene.
