Surfers Beach is a 3km (2mi) stretch located down the road from Gregory Town’s pineapple farm and small tourism hub. This spot has a long history, drawing surfers since the '70s. It features a mix of left and occasional right waves, making it a popular choice among local and visiting surfers alike. While it can get crowded, it’s worth checking out for its consistent surf.
The waves at Surfers Beach are pretty versatile. They handle swell sizes starting from about 2ft (0.6m) and can max out around 10ft (3m). The best swell direction to catch is from the NorthEast, but it can work with North and SouthEast swells too. The waves break over both uneven reef and sand, which can add a bit of variety to your session. The lefts are fast and have a strong inside section, while rights pop up occasionally. If you're a beginner, this spot can be a good place to practice as it sees waves that cater to all skill levels, especially during low to mid tides. For the best conditions, keep an eye on wind coming from the SouthWest.
While you’re at Surfers Beach, be prepared to share the lineup, as the waves can attract a lot of surfers, especially when they’re firing. The blend of surf types and conditions makes it a great spot to refine your skills and enjoy some varied waves.
