TT's surf guide

TT's, also known as Tony's Tavarua, is located about 2 kilometers offshore south of Tulear, near Sarodrano. It’s accessible by boat or a 4WD to Sarodrano, followed by a pirogue ride. The surf here is quite consistent, rating around 6 out of 10, making it worth the trip for surfers looking for a decent session.

The best waves at TT's are lefts that work best on mid to high tides. You’ll find optimal conditions with a southwest swell direction, although it can handle swells coming from the south or southwest too. The waves usually start to pick up when the swell hits around 3 feet (about 1 meter). The break sits over a dead coral reef, so surf with caution. It's a good spot for intermediate surfers, especially when the wind is coming from the east.

While TT's can offer some fun multi-barrel rides, keep in mind that it’s not always firing. The midday onshore winds can make conditions less favorable, so it’s best to plan your surf session for the earlier part of the day when the winds are calmer.
