Takezaki surf guide

Takezaki is located on the south coast, a bit to the west of Hotel-mae. It's a beachbreak with a few A-frame peaks that can deliver some fun rides, especially when the sandbanks are on point. The overall vibe here is pretty chill, and since it’s not super easy to get to, you can usually find a spot to yourself, away from the large crowds.

The surf at Takezaki works best with a southeast swell, but it can also handle east and southwest swells. When it’s on, you can catch waves from 1 ft (0.3 m) and up over the sandy bottom. The beach offers both left and right breaking waves, making it a versatile spot for surfers of all levels. The ideal wind direction is northwest, and the tide can be low, mid, or high without too much trouble.

Getting to Takezaki requires a 4WD vehicle, as you’ll need to drive through some jungle-like terrain to reach the beach. This off-the-beaten-path access tends to keep the number of surfers down, allowing for a more peaceful session. It’s a good spot for beginners, especially when the conditions are favorable.
