Surf: Tanjung Padang is a great set-up, with long, fast rights over the reef, flanked by a deep-water channel. At low tide, the rights start off close to a large sail-like rock then traverse a long expanse of reef where size and swell direction will decide if it closes-out or not. It backs off into a channel before spinning down a faster inside section. Environment: Pure and pristine location with great spear-fishing at the point, where the reef sharks patrol the drop-off zone. The village at Hapo has some rights, but a tanker on the reef at the mouth of the bay destroyed a decent left.
