Tapi Point is a surf spot located on Efate, known for its long waves, although they can be quite sectiony at times. Surfers looking for something a bit different should check it out since it offers a mix of waves that might appeal to a variety of skill levels.
The optimal swell direction at Tapi Point is from the SouthEast, but it can also handle waves coming from the West. It works well with swell sizes around 2ft. (about 0.6 meters) and breaks over live coral. The waves here are primarily reef breaks and have a left direction. If you’re planning to surf, the best time to hit it is during mid to high tide, with a favorable wind coming from the NorthEast. It's best suited for intermediate surfers due to the wave conditions.
Just a heads up, there’s also a right wave located about 700 meters from the Eratap Resort. If you’re up for exploring, it might be worth paddling over there after checking out the point.
