Tea Bags surf guide

Tea Bags is located just off the southern coast of Simeulue on Pulau Tapah. It's known for its challenging right-hand wave that breaks over a fringing reef. When the swell is up, usually around 6 feet (about 1.8 meters), this spot can really deliver some powerful rides. It's not the easiest place for everyone, but experienced surfers looking for an adrenaline rush will find it worthwhile. Nearby in the Busung village area, there are other waves to explore, including a sculpted right at the entrance of a deep bay and a fast left wall along the southern headland.

This wave works best with a west swell direction and can also handle swells coming from the south and west. The ideal wind direction is from the Northwest, which helps shape the waves nicely. Mid to high tide is where you'll want to be for the best results. It's a right-hand reef break, so be prepared to take off with a bit of speed. Given the nature of the wave, it's definitely more suited for expert surfers who are comfortable on a reef.

If you're planning a trip to Tea Bags, be ready for some solid surf. The trickiest part is that it can get pretty crowded, especially when the conditions are right, so keep that in mind when you head out. Just make sure to respect the locals and other surfers in the lineup.
