Overview
Terco is a reef break that fires over a rock ledge and sand, with the peak anchored by rock. It runs both left and right, though the lefts are what it's known for, and when it's switched on the peak can serve up faster, hollower sections.
When It Works
Terco draws swell from southwest through northwest, with northwest the best match. A big west or southwest swell will also get it going. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Consistency is on the low side here, so it's worth keeping an eye out for the windows when the swell lines up properly.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast offshore wind. The reef can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The wave suits intermediate surfers, and you can usually expect a fairly quiet lineup.
