Terrace Bay surf guide
Surf: Terrace Bay is about as far north as the average visitor will be permitted to go. There is an inconsistent left point here, and a more regular beachbreak, both of which are frequented by plenty of big sharks. Accommodation is available in basic blocks, which must be booked through the National Park office. Terrace is a popular fishing resort and offers the best beach shark fishing in the world. The left finishes up in front of the point where the fishermen gut their catches and throw all the entrails back into the sea! North of Terrace Bay there are certainly further good waves, but with no roads and access limited to scientists and those on expensive fly-in safaris, there is little opportunity to explore for waves.
