The south side has many good right pointbreaks like the high tide, section riddled point at Summerland Bay, which leads into The Crack, a more vertical, speedy affair. The suck-rock take-off gets hairy at lower tides and it can lead nicely into the beachbreak launching ramps if the sand cooperates.
Huge crowds of people here - not to surf, but to watch the famous penguins march about the place.
