Overview
The Rock is a right-hand reef break off the southern tip of Cheduba Island. It's a small islet, first surfed on the Callaghan trip and later featured in The Surfers Journal (Vol 10, No. 1), and the wave peels right over an uneven reef.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from south through west, with a southwest (SW) swell the best match. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, so it holds a decent spread of size. Consistency is moderate, so expect worthwhile windows when the setup lines up rather than a rideable wave on every check.
Wind and Tide
Look for a north (N) offshore wind to groom it. The reef can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The wave suits intermediate surfers, and the lineup stays quiet.
Access
The Rock sits off Cheduba Island and is officially off-limits to foreigners.
