Ti Mouillage surf guide

Ti Mouillage is a surf spot located in a scenic area lined with flamboyant trees and banana plants. It's easily accessible with roadside parking, making it a convenient spot for surfers. The waves break pretty close to the road which also makes it a solid spot for spectators to watch the action unfold. The vibe here is laid-back, and it’s great for both locals and visitors who want to enjoy a day at the beach.

The main attraction here is the reef break, which can deliver some good barrels on both left and right waves. This spot really shines under specific conditions, especially during hurricane swells or when there’s a period of more than 8 seconds. The waves work best with a southeast swell direction, but can handle east and south swells too. It’s suitable for more experienced surfers since it can get tricky, with conditions best around mid to high tide and when the wind is coming from the north. The waves typically handle sizes starting at about 1 foot (0.3 meters), breaking over rock ledge, so being aware of the surroundings is key.

Besides the main break, there’s an adjacent cove to the west where local kids have been riding softer peelers on wooden planks for years. Lately, they’ve started using their own surfboards, reflecting a growing surf culture in the area. Keep an eye out for the local scene; it’s always interesting to see how surfers are rising to the challenge here.
