Tonggs surf guide
Surf: The lefts at Tonggs are improver-friendly with the odd hollow section as it doubles-up over the uneven coral. The right is faster before closing-out, while the left fades out in a deeper channel. Further east are the dangerous sounding lefts at Graveyards and Suicides, which is more of a fun wall, as long as the tide is not super-low. Across the channel from Tonggs left is Rice Bowl, a sucky, spinning right/left combo that offers tube time and coping in equal measure, but is rare, sought after and capable of dishing out some punishment on the shallow shelf. All the breaks around Tonggs handle NE trades much better than Cliffs.
Environment: Paddle out from the tiny beach off of Kalakaua. Meter parking is not easy around here.
