More about Tortuguero Beach surfspot

A boat from Puerto Moin is best for accessing the northern breaks of Parismina, Tortuguero or Barra Colorado. It is all part of the huge Tortuguero National Park, and the beachbreaks stretch for mile after lonely mile. The rivermouths might make the sandbar arrangement more interesting but brown water and the size of some of the crocs in the area make this a nervous pursuit of what are going to be average waves. Walking up from the new oil refinery jetty at Playa Main will give a flavour and it's often just a messy wall of whitewater.

The new harbour construction may offer some protected corners on certain conditions and the rivermouth end can have some rights but it's polluted.
