More about Tracks surfspot

Where the railway line meets the coast is Tracks, the first of 3 good quality righthand points. Tracks is the most protected and requires a massive swell from the S, preferably with a bit of W in it. Consequentially, it's smaller and slower than the outer points, offering nice tapered walls and long shoulders down the boulders.

From Napier, head north on Pandora Road State Highway 2, onto Meeanee Quay and Main North Road out of the city. Continue on State Highway 2 through Wairoa, then at Nuhaka go straight through the roundabout onto Nuhaka Opoutama Road. Continue along Nuhaka Opoutama Road, and find a park near Opoutama beach, or you can park at Point Annihilation and walk round to the break.

Paddle out from the beach of drift down from Point Annihilation.
