Tsuyazaki is located next to Tougou Park and Kitakyushu Hospital. It’s known for its inconsistent right point break that can surprise you with some quality waves. The spot features a fun tube right on take-off, followed by a playful wall that can stretch up to about 100 meters. However, don't expect perfect waves every day—conditions can vary quite a bit here.
This surf spot works best with a swell coming from the north, with additional directions from the northwest and northeast also producing rideable waves. It can handle swell sizes starting at 2 feet (about 0.6 meters). The waves generally break over an uneven reef, which makes it more suitable for intermediate surfers. When you’re out there, keep an eye on the wind; east winds are preferred here. You can find good waves regardless of the tide, whether it’s low, mid, or high, giving you some flexibility in planning your sessions.
Keep in mind that due to the nature of the reef, it’s not recommended for beginners. The uneven terrain can present challenges, so make sure you’re comfortable with your skills before hitting the water. Enjoy the surf and stay safe!
