Tullaghan Left surf guide

Tullaghan Left is a surf spot known for its unique boulder point setup. It tends to work best with big swells coming from the W-NW, but it also handles some W swells. If you’re looking to paddle out, the conditions tend to be favorable when the SW winds are blowing. Just keep in mind that this place can be tricky to access, so plan ahead.

The waves here break left over boulders, and it’s a point break that can offer some nice rides. It works well with swell sizes around 5 ft (about 1.5 meters), making it a good choice for more experienced surfers. The best conditions come with mid to high tides, and the ideal wind direction is from the south. This isn’t a spot for beginners, so make sure you’re up to the challenge before heading out.

Getting to Tullaghan Left can be a bit of a hassle. It's best to park at the east end of the village and access the boulder beach from there. Avoid taking the shortcut across the fields by the church, as it can lead to problems. Once you're on the beach, you’ll need to walk up to the left to reach the surf break.
