Overview
Vik is an east-facing beachbreak with a right-hand point, tucked north of Simrishamn. Waves break over sand and run both left and right. It picks up better fetch than most Baltic breaks, but waves are still very rare here, so it pays to watch the forecast rather than turn up on spec. Strong currents run through the lineup, so keep track of where you drift.
When It Works
Any east swell switches Vik on. It draws swell from northeast through southeast, with east (E) the best match. The break is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest (SW) offshore wind. Vik can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Intermediate surfers will get the most out of it.
Access
Park in the beach access roads before the golf course. There's a car park with free parking, and roadside parking as well.
