With the right conditions, you can catch some solid right-hand waves, especially around high tide. The wave tends to break over coarse, shell-packed sand, creating some fun opportunities for shortboarding, bodyboarding, and even skimboarding. The palm of your hand is quick to make its way to the water, with just a couple of paddle strokes getting you out to the break. However, it’s not a beginner-friendly spot overall, as the waves can be quite dumpy, and some local knowledge is helpful.

Fall, spring, and winter are the best times to surf here, especially when favorable southwest winds come into play.
