Village Reform surf guide

Village Reform is a surf spot located just beyond the new harbour jetty being built at Sopi. This wave is known for being fast and rides to the right over a shallow reef. It’s one of the most easily accessed waves in town. Other nearby options include a beach break and some flanking reefs, but those tend to deliver average waves at best. The spot is mostly surfed when locals want a quick session without the trek to Serenade.

The conditions at Village Reform are best when the swell is coming from the north, but it can also handle swells from the east. The wave works well when it’s about 2ft (0.6 meters) and breaks over a LiveCoral reef. For those looking to ride here, make sure you're at an expert level, as it can get a bit intense. The ideal wind direction is southeast, and the mid to high tide is essential for making this spot work properly.

This wave is mainly surfed during those lazy afternoons when you're not feeling a long haul. If you’re up for a fast right, Village Reform could be worth checking out, especially if you can catch it at the right time with the right conditions.
