More about Wolf Island surfspot
General: Another National Wildlife Refuge, Wolf Island is actually made up of three islands, with Wolf being the front island. Accessible only by boat, it sits a bit farther back than Sapelo and is somewhat shadowed on NE or SE swells, but works on most easterly swells. There's also a significant current here on a changing tide. Best on an incoming tide, you may face some heavy rips and currents from the nearby rivers, which carry an enormous amount of water. Tides: mid to high Size: knee-head high Wind: W, NW Swell: SE Bottom: Sand Paddling: Hard NE and SW winds can produce strong currents, but generally pretty mellow. Spot Rating: Can offer a fun little wave on its day, but overall not a surf destination.
