Woolacombe surf guide
Surf: Mellow, open beachbreak peaks working through the tide. Popular with longboarders and beginners. Lined-up high tide right off the rocks and shapely low tide peaks in the small bay of Combesgate to the north.
Environment: Ample pay-parking around Woolacombe and full facilities.
Surf: General: A 2 mile long stretch of sand that offers many peaks and loads of room to spread out. Popular high tide right at the northern end where the town is, plus the stream here helps sculpt consistent banks. Looking south there are a number of lefts and rights that work through the tides. Good option to escape the Croyde crowds.
Tides: Breaks through the tides.
Size: Waist high to overhead.

Paddling: Not too bad.
Spot Rating: Flexible, fun beach break with loads of potential to find good peaks in clean swells.
Access: Large car park in Woolacombe overlooking the sea, or on Marine Drive running parallel to the beach, just back from dunes.
Crowds: Crowd Factor: its busy but manageable as there's plenty of room to spread out.
Local Vibe: Relaxed.
Environment: Pretty clean - can be sewage discharge after heavy rains.
Hazards: Rips when big.
Season: Works year round, but best September - November.
