More about Woolamai surfspot

The most reliable beachbreak is Woolamai, a series of powerful breaks facing directly into the SW swell and in some places the sand is anchored by rock shelf. Most popular is Car Parks, down by the surf club where incredibly long rides can be had from out the back to the shorey when it all lines-up. Further eastwards is Magic Lands, where you can enjoy a bit more space and more S wind protection. Up the other end of the extensive, dune-backed strand is Forest Caves, where every now and then and fast hollow left will appear. All shapes are possible from cruisey crumblers and fast lippy walls to perfect peelers on the right tide/swell/wind combo.

Usually the first place people check to see the state of the swell. Sharks undoubtedly cruise this stretch so be glad it is crowded most of the time! Regular competition site also, but take a walk and escape the pack. Rips here can be heavy and have claimed a few lives - be vigilant.
