Xago surf guide

Xago is a west-facing beach located near the industrial city of Avilés. This spot is known for its ultra-consistent beach break, making it a reliable choice when other areas are too small to surf. While it can get crowded, especially during the summer months, it offers decent beach facilities and some good views to enjoy between sessions.

This beach break works best with northwest swells and handles sizes starting from about 1 meter (3 ft). You can catch both left and right waves here, depending on the sandbars. Xago is great for surfing at low, mid, and high tides. When it comes to wind, southeast is the preferred direction to keep things nice and clean on the water. It's worth noting that this spot is better suited for expert surfers due to the conditions.

While it can get busy with beachgoers during the summer, you'll find that the waves often remain surfable when other locations fail to deliver. Parking is decent outside the peak summer weekends, so managing to get a spot should be smooth enough. Just keep in mind that surf here can vary quite a bit with the changing tides and weather, so it's good to check the forecast before heading out.
