More about Yokohama surfspot

The Farrington Highway winds north to it’s denouement at Kaena Point, passing some pretty, rock-shrouded sands at Keaau Beach Park and Makua before skirting the SW-facing bay at Yokohama. While the scenery is relaxing, this wave is high octane, with fast, thumping lefts on a SW swell and just as angry rights on a NW. Only the swift need apply to try to get in quick enough and race it over the mosaic of coral heads, that are best covered at mid tide.

Usually uncrowded, but there’s plenty of leeward surfers who would prefer visitors didn’t surf here or further up the road at Third Dip.
