Very consistent, good quality, beachbreak. Doesn’t need much swell to work, although W swells struggle to get in here. A long beach with several peaks, mostly performance orientated. Highly competitive in the water with a very high level of surfing.

General: A consistent beach break that's always busy, for good reason. The long beach has numerous quality peaks along its length, working through the tides, in even the smallest swells. It's a highly competitive spot, with a strong local crew and a super high standard of surfing. Tides: Works through the tides. Size: Waist high to overhead Wind: S Swell: NW, N Bottom: Sand Paddling: Can be a heavy paddle out when the size picks up. Spot Rating: High quality: a regional classic, super popular urban beach break with good waves and good facilities to boot.

Good for all when small.

Summer and weekend parking is almost impossible.

Crowd Factor: One of the region's most popular spots, its always super busy. Local Vibe: Highly competitive with a very high standard.

Almost always crowded, particularly on the main peaks. Zarautz is one of the most popular surfing beaches in Spain. Also quite popular with beachgoers in the summer. Parking difficult during the summer and at weekends. Good facilities including lifeguard, showers, toilets and surfing school. Surf shops in nearby town centre. Mildly polluted, mainly from residential and stormwater runoff.

Average, can be polluted especially after heavy rains.

Crowds. There are loads of surf schools here, so beginners and bailed boards, too.
