Zipolite surf guide
Surf: General: South of Puerto Escondido, the wild Mexican frontier slams right into the Pacific Coast, making for dramatic, jungled coastline and empty beaches. The town of San Agustinillo, and its surfbreak of the same name, and another called Zipolite, await the surfer in the mood for mellow. Both waves are wind-tattered (after 11am) and warbled, but can be worth the paddle out. While the traveling surfer just passing through will likely not catch Agustinillo or Zipolite very good, the traveler who has decided to post up at one of the cheap accommodations for a handful of hot, quiet days between spring and summer may very well get lucky. There are hidden gems strewn all up and down this stretch of coast.
