Overview
711 sits on the closest stretch of beach to the only causeway connecting L.B.I. to the mainland. It's a sand-bottomed beachbreak with both lefts and rights, and it will take just about any swell direction, though it rarely turns on much beyond an average beachbreak at the lower tides.
When It Works
The bank draws swell from northeast through east-southeast to south, and it comes together best on a southeast (SE) swell. It stays fairly consistent and is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for west (W) offshore wind to clean it up. It breaks across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an approachable, beginner-friendly wave. Expect a busy lineup filled with all kinds of surfcraft when it's on.
Access
There's a lifeguard on the beach, plus a surf school and surf shop close by. Parking is easy: a car park with free parking and free roadside spots by the SevenEleven, along with paid parking too, while the beach itself charges for tags in summer.
