Adonis is a surf spot located on the eastern tip of Veymandhoo pass. This section can be accessed easily and tends to attract surfers looking for a spot that offers some decent waves. While it may not be the most famous break around, it’s known amongst locals and those in the know, making it a worthwhile stop for those exploring the area.
The waves at Adonis mainly break right and are best when the swell comes from the southwest. It handles swell sizes from about 2 feet (0.6 meters) and can also work with swells from the southeast direction. The spot features a reef break, with the ideal conditions being a mid to high tide. If you catch a day with a north wind, you’re likely to find the waves in better shape. This spot is more suited for intermediate surfers, so it's a great place to sharpen your skills without feeling overwhelmed.
Besides the waves, Adonis can provide a scenic backdrop, which is a nice bonus while you’re out riding. The vibe is chill, and it tends to be less crowded than some more popular spots. Just remember to check the conditions before heading out, and you’ll likely have a solid session.
