Anse aux Poules Bleues, located near Anse à la Mouche, is a surf spot that offers a fun experience for surfers, especially those who enjoy left-handers. The area is known for its shallow waters, which can provide long rides when the conditions are right. This spot is reliant on a significant swell to come alive, often requiring a solid South West swell to break well.
The waves here predominantly break over an uneven reef, making it a little tricky, so it's best suited for intermediate surfers. Anse aux Poules Bleues works best when the swell is coming from the South West, but it can also handle swells from the South East. The spot can manage a wave height of around 2 feet (0.6 meters) to larger sizes, and while it does break at low, mid, and high tides, low tide might be more preferable. On days when the wind is coming from the South East, the left-hand waves can be pretty enjoyable, but don't expect it to be firing all the time; it usually requires a bit of patience.
