Balimbing is located at the tip of the Benkulen Peninsula. This surf spot is a bit hidden away and is surrounded by beautiful scenery. While it may not be as well-known as some other places, it’s rumored to have potential for good waves. Accessing Balimbing can be tricky since there aren't direct roads leading to it, so be prepared for a bit of an adventure if you want to check it out.
The waves at Balimbing generally work best with swells from the SouthWest, but swells coming from the South and West can also produce decent surf. The spot can handle swell sizes around 3 feet (about 0.9 meters). It's a point break setup similar to Bengkunqut, with waves breaking over dead coral. You can expect mostly left-hand waves here, which can be fun for those who like a lefty ride. The best wind direction for the spot is from the East, and it works well across all tide levels – low, mid, and high. This isn’t a spot for beginners, so it’s better suited for intermediate surfers looking for a challenge.
Keep in mind that getting to Balimbing might take some time, and it can be a bit of a trek. Due to its location and setup, you might find it less crowded compared to other surf spots, which can be a huge plus if you prefer some space in the lineup. Just remember to be aware of the conditions and enjoy your time out there!
