Surf: Popular summer resort town with typical shifting bars, from high tide thumping shories to outer low tide bars that can be fast and hollow in sections. Seems to favour rights as the sand goes with the flow from N-S. Access: restricted access to the south Environment: Often crowded at the bottom of the access points, the northern one leads to a large campsite (Vivier). Pollution drifts down from La Salie despite new treatment plants. Access is restricted by the military zone stretching as far south as Mimizan although some do risk explosive meetings with the army for solitude.
