Surf: Boca de Apisa is Colima’s last option for a quality beachbreak; thick, fast and cracking in a medium S, which can produce long rivermouth lefts when the sand is settled. Peaks to the north and south also work well in the winter NW swells. Environment: Beware the strong currents. Hazards include alligators. South of here is a Sunset-like reef which works only on large swells and easier beachies at northwest-facing Punta San Telmo.
