Overview
Bozo Beach sits just beyond Punta Goleta and delivers a thumping, fast shorebreak strictly for experts. When neighboring Encuentro closes out, this stretch pits and spits, firing shut-down barrels that bodyboarders will love. It's a shared beach too, with windsurfers, skimboarders, and bodybashers all working the same sand. The waves break over a mix of uneven reef and sand, and the swell angle tends to set up longer rights and shorter lefts.
When It Works
The break pulls in swell from the north to northeast, with northeast (NE) the optimal direction. It works from 1.5 m / 5 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, and it can be somewhat inconsistent, so it pays to catch it on the right day.
Wind and Tide
Look for a southwest (SW) offshore wind to clean up the faces. Bozo Beach can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is expert-only terrain, fast and heavy enough that it's no place to find your feet. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's on.
Access
For facilities, there's camping, a lifeguard, a surf school, and a surf shop close by. You'll find free roadside parking.
