Camperduin surf guide

Camperduin is a surf spot located in the Netherlands, known for its powerful jetty break. It’s a favorite among local surfers, especially when the conditions are right. The spot offers a mixed surf experience, catering mainly to intermediate surfers. While it can have some decent days, it’s not always the most consistent location, so it’s good to check the conditions before heading out.

The waves here work best with a Northwest swell but can also handle SouthWest and North swells. When the conditions align, Camperduin can manage swells from about 1ft (0.3 meters) up, breaking over sand. The waves tend to roll in both left and right, giving surfers options. The ideal times to surf are during low and mid tide, though the waves can still be surfed at high tide. Generally, when the tide is pushing at mid tide, you might find some barreling waves for a few hours. Just be aware that rip tides can get strong at high tide, so keep that in mind when you’re out there.

In the summer, there are parking charges, so don’t forget to plan for that. If it gets crowded, there are other jetty beaches nearby to consider, including the main beach at Hargen. Overall, Camperduin offers a solid surf experience, but like any spot, it can vary day by day.
