Overview
Club Med Mauritius is a right-hand reef break at Baie de la Petite Rivière, breaking over live coral across a northwest-facing pass in front of La Plantation d'Albion Club Med. The pass holds both a left and a right, though the right is the main draw.
When It Works
The pass has a wide swell window, drawing swell from southwest through north to northeast (SW-N-NE), with southwest (SW) swell the best match. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. Both the left and the right need a big winter swell or summer conditions before they start to break, and the reef can be somewhat inconsistent, so it rewards patience when the setup lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast (SE) offshore wind. It can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an intermediate-friendly wave, and you can expect a fairly quiet lineup when it is breaking.
