Coldingham Bay surf guide
Surf: Punchy, hollow beachbreak needing a large NE swell to work. Tight peak that can get busy at weekends. Some rocks.
Environment: . Good pub accommodation in the village. Pay to park.
Surf: General: Small, crescent shaped sandy bay, fronted by beach huts. Works best on lower tides. Always smaller here than at Pease Bay due to shelter from St Abb's Head. When it does break there's fun peaks. Parking just back from beach.
Tides: All tides but best low to mid.
Size: Thigh to head high.
Wind: SW
Swell: NE to E
Bottom: Sand with a couple of rock outcrops.
Paddling: OK, except when big.
Spot Rating: Fun, peaky waves.
Access: Pay car park a short walk from the beach. Can get busy - popular with day trippers.
Crowds: Crowd Factor: Can get busy, but manageable.
Local Vibe: Chilled.
Environment: OK.
Hazards: Rocks, rips when big.
Season: September - February as needs bigger swells.
