Surf: The powerful, long rights of El Pelado need a decent S-W swell and dropping tides to produce the barrels in front of the rock on the point. Walls through to another hollow section inside and 300m rides are possible. Almost always blown-out by the S winds, along with the string of 7 pearler right points leading into Playas (El Faro, El Hambre, Las Paso, El Posada, Shark Bay, Olas Verdes, Chabella). Get up very early to beat the wind. Environment: Gets a pack from Guayaquil on weekends and only experts who can make the sharp drop on the outside should ride El Pelado when it gets overhead. Some of the other points are easier but all feature sharp rocks at some stage of the ride.
