Galizano surf guide

Galizano is a surf spot located on the northern coast of Spain. It features a rivermouth beachbreak that's mostly quiet, tucked away down a winding track. The area is rarely crowded, though you might find some locals filling the lineup when the sandbars are working well. It's a picturesque spot, making it a nice place to chill out after surfing, though parking can get tricky during the busy summer months. There are some nearby campsites if you're looking to stay a bit longer.

The surf at Galizano can be quite good depending on the swell. It works best with a NorthWest swell direction, but it can also pick up waves from the West and the North. This break handles swell sizes starting from about 2 feet (0.6 meters) and works well at low to mid-tide. The waves here can break both left and right, making it suitable for different ride preferences. For the best experience, aim for SouthEast winds; they're ideal for clean conditions. This spot is mainly for intermediate surfers, so if you're still learning, you might find it a bit challenging.

Since Galizano is more secluded compared to other spots, it tends to maintain a laid-back vibe. You'll also find that it's a good idea to check the sandbars before heading out, as they can make a big difference in wave quality.
