Overview
Gammart is a sandy beachbreak just outside Tunis, close to the ancient ruins of Carthage. It picks up mellow waves when the swell finds its way in, though the Gulf of Tunis saps a lot of the energy before it reaches the beach. Both lefts and rights break here over sand.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from west through north, with northwest swell the best match. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft, so this is a spot for the smaller, gentler end of the scale.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest offshore wind. Gammart can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The soft, forgiving waves make this a good place for beginners to find their feet.
