Greenhills surf guide

Greenhills is a stretch of beach that offers a casual surf vibe, perfect for those looking to catch some waves without the hustle and bustle of more crowded spots. It’s a good choice if you’re just starting out or looking to improve your skills. The area provides a nice variety of options, and while it might not always deliver top-notch conditions, it's generally more relaxed.

The surf here works best with a south swell, but you can also catch some waves with east and south swells. The waves can handle sizes starting from 1ft (about 0.3 meters), and you’ll find beach breaks that roll left and right. The optimal wind direction is from the northwest, making it easier to enjoy the surf. Tides don’t really limit your options here; you can have fun during low, mid, or high tides, making it pretty flexible for your sessions.

This spot is especially friendly for beginners, giving you a chance to ride some gentle waves and build your confidence. The further north you go, the waves tend to get smaller, and the quality of the sandbanks can drop, but that also means it’s usually less crowded. In the summer, the northeast sea breezes aren’t much of an issue, which is nice. Overall, Greenhills is a decent spot if you’re looking for a relaxed surf day.
