Impossibles surf guide

Impossibles is a surf spot located near Padang Padang, Bali. Known for its long coral reef, it becomes a popular destination for surfers when the right swell comes in. The spot is best accessed at low tide to avoid the sharp reef, and while it can look perfect from above, it offers some challenging conditions that can catch you off guard. Crowds here are generally manageable, making it a good option for those looking to avoid the busier spots nearby.

This break generally loves a moderate to large, long period south swell, which rolls in nicely from the south and southwest. It handles swell sizes up to about 4 ft (1.2 m) well. The waves here are predominantly reef breaks, breaking left, and can get really fast, especially in certain sections. Low tide is the sweet spot for getting into those barrel sections, while high tide can get a bit choppy. If you're not at least an expert surfer, it might be a struggle to navigate the quick waves and the layout of the reef, which has some straight bits that can catch you off guard.

For the best experience, southeast winds work in your favor. The paddle-out is similar to Padang, so be prepared for a bit of a session to get out there. It's a good idea to wear booties when getting in and out over the low tide reef to protect your feet. Overall, the spot offers a unique surfing experience that can be rewarding for those who know how to handle it.
