Inches surf guide
Surf: General: Just outside Patillas on Route 1 is one of PR's best summer spots. It's also good on hurricane swells and is one of the best left points around: 100 yards long; very rippable and even barreling at times; perfect channel; surrounded by fire coral. On the downside, it's called Inches 'cause that's usually how big it is -- plus, when it breaks, it does so in inches of water the closer you get to shore. A nearby mountain swings the trades around to offshore, which is one bonus factor; also, it tends to shift around a bit, which spreads the crowds out some.
