Kadu surf guide

Kadu, known as Kanduoiygiri, is a surf spot that offers a different vibe compared to many others in the area. When the swell is right, it can provide some fun waves, but generally, it tends to be a bit smaller than other spots nearby. It's a good option if you have a specific type of day in mind, especially when other spots might be too crowded or firing too hard.

The surf at Kadu works best with a southeast swell and is suitable for those who are at an intermediate skill level. The waves break mainly over live coral, and you'll find right-handers here. The spot handles swell sizes starting from about 1 foot (0.3 meters), which can be good to ride when conditions align. For the best results, aim for low to mid to high tide, and make sure the wind is coming from the northwest for optimal conditions. While you might find some closeouts, there are days when Kadu offers solid rides you won’t want to miss.

If you’re planning a trip, keep in mind that Paradise Island is not just for chilling; it's nearby and has attempted to market itself as a surf destination. However, the lefts there don’t usually hold up well, often leading to closeouts. So, stick to Kadu if you're looking for something that could give you a bit of a thrill without the hassle of big crowds.
