Karawop is a left-hand point that peels along a run of boulders, offering fun, wrapping walls. The wave breaks over dead coral and sits near Wewak, a town of around 63,000 where you may lose a little swell consistency and size but gain easier access and services.
When It Works
The point draws swell from northwest to north (NW-N) and is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for a southeast (SE) offshore wind to groom the wall. It can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
