Koodhoo is a surf spot located in Gaafu Alifu (North Huvadhoo Atoll), often surfed by boats making their way to and from Male. It's set in a pretty nice area, but sometimes the sea can get a bit rough, especially when crossing the one and a half degree channel. While it might not always be a top-tier destination, surfers often find decent waves here.
The surf at Koodhoo generally works best with swells coming from the SouthEast and SouthWest. It can handle swell sizes starting from 2ft (about 0.6 meters) and breaks over dead coral, providing reef breaks that lean to the left. For the best experience, aim for days with a west wind, and you'll be able to enjoy the waves at low, mid, or high tide.
When you're planning your trip, keep in mind that Koodhoo can be hit or miss, but it's worth checking out if you're in the area. Just be ready for a bit of a journey to get there, and always watch the conditions.
