La Viuda surf guide
Surf: La Viuda faces SE and picks up plenty of swell onto shifting sandbanks that often form up a nice left in the northern corner, but it can get crowded. Gets some hollow peaks and it handles the onshore E better than other places in the area. On the other side of Punta del Diablo, BahÃa de los Pescadores has protected gentle beginners waves in the southern corner, until a big swell transforms it into some fun shaped walls with S wind protection. The peaks improve as you walk up to Playa Rivero ideally when any E swell is running with any W wind.
Environment: Santa Teresa and Punta Del Diablo form the other main surf hub in Uruguay, sporting 15 major spots within a 25km (15mi) drive.
